2026 Spring Writers' Retreat

Thursday, May 14 - Sunday, May 17, 2026

Registration IS OPEN!

Registration deadline April 24

Payments due by May 1

We look forward to seeing you!

Join us near Atlanta for a long weekend of writing workshops, stimulating readings, and fellowship with other lesbian/queer/non-binary/trans/bisexual writers. The atmosphere is inspiring, relaxed and fun. Many of us have been gathering twice a year for decades, and we welcome new voices.

- Check-in Thursday, May 14, from 2-4 p.m.

- Opening Circle Thursday, May 14, at 7:30 p.m.

We meet in an idyllic setting where we can soak in the outdoors but also retreat to air-conditioned comfort in the face of Georgia’s heat and humidity. We keep the location private until you register. Please respect this policy and refrain from sharing the location with others.

Accommodations include air conditioned cabins and a hotel-style lodge. All meals are included, and you'll have the opportunity to select vegetarian or vegan meals if that is your preference.

OUTrageous Voices offers a sliding scale for payment. We’ll tell you how much the retreat costs us, per person, and you let us know how much you can pay. We encourage those who can afford it to pay more than our cost. This offsets losses we might incur when others are not able to pay the full cost. With your generosity, it usually balances out! No one will be turned away because of financial issues.

Looking ahead ...

      Did you miss the
2024 OUTrageous Voices

Showcase?

Several of OUTrageous Voices' finest poets shared their work in a special program at Charis Books & More in Decatur, GA, on March 9, 2024. We enjoyed a fabulous evening of poetry, prose, spoken word performance and song, showcasing the work of lesbian, queer, bisexual womyn, trans and nonbinary writers. We were not disappointed!

Performers included Karen G, Jill Spisak, Beki, Adriana, and Lenny Lasater of Just Roxie.

If you missed the program, don't worry! You can watch the video recorded by E.R. Anderson of Charis Books & More/Charis Circle.
