OUTrageous Voices Events
2024 Fall Writers' Retreat
Wednesday, Oct. 16 - Sunday, Oct. 20, 2024
The fall gathering is smaller and less structured than our spring retreat. In addition to workshops and readings, you'll find time to spend writing and connecting with other writers in a more intimate setting. This fall, we've added an extra day at the beginning for settling in, reconnecting with nature, relaxing, and spontaneity.
- Check-in opens Wednesday at 4 p.m.
- Scheduled activities begin with Opening Circle at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
You’ll be responsible for bringing your own food unless the group makes a decision to organize meals (and we will let you know once you've registered). Refrigerators and stoves are available for your use in the dining hall, along with a microwave.
Onsite cabins and bunkhouses are available and are included in the cost of the retreat. The sleeping accommodations are rustic and include beds, sinks, indoor toilets, and showers. Bedding and toiletries are not included. There is no air conditioning in any of the buildings. Limited special needs sleeping space is available. Local hotels are less than 20 minutes away and may be a good choice for those who want or need air conditioning or less rustic lodging.
Location near Atlanta; details provided with registration. Spring and fall retreats are currently in different locations. Spring retreat includes air conditioning.

Did you miss the
2024 OUTrageous Voices
Showcase?
Several of OUTrageous Voices' finest poets share their work in a special program at Charis Books & More in Decatur, GA, on March 9, 2024. We enjoyed a fabulous evening of poetry, prose, spoken word performance and song, showcasing the work of lesbian, queer, bisexual womyn, trans and nonbinary writers. We were not disappointed!
Performers included Karen G, Jill Spisak, Beki, Adriana, and Lenny Lasater of Just Roxie.
If you missed the program, don't worry! You can watch the video recorded by E.R. Anderson of Charis Books & More/Charis Circle.
